February Break Bucket List

5 days / 4 nights

Day 1:

  • Visit the Prehistoric Planet program at the Ecotarium. What was the world like when dinosaurs roamed the Earth?  Explore the packed schedule that includes Story Time – How the Sea Came to Be, Science Discovery: Dinosaur Breath, Science Discovery: Dinosaur tracking and much more!
  • With a range of fantastic amenities (read: Indoor Pool!) and an unparalleled location, you can’t beat the newly renovated Courtyard Boston Marlborough as your “home base” for your school vacation!
  • Grab some grub at The Fix Burger Bar. Offering over 40 toppings, you can customize your own burger, and they also offer great beers and mixed drinks for mom and dad.

Day 2:

  • Head up a bit north to Nashoba Valley Ski Area and hit the slopes! Offering trails for all abilities and one day ski lessons for the newbies.  Not into skiing or snowboarding?  They also offer snow tubing!
  • Après Ski try out Lalos Mexican Restaurant on your drive back. Their sizzling fajitas will warm you up after a cold day out.

Day 3:

  • Stop by Café 641 for a hearty breakfast to start your day! The breakfast burrito is a fan favorite as well as the Café Latte.
  • Spend your morning at the American Heritage Museum. Sneak in some education on this vacation and immerse yourself in the staggering variety of rare relics that are on display at the museum including over fifteen tanks and artifacts that are the only public ones on display in North America!
  • After the history lesson, get out some energy at Roller Kingdom. With more than 25,000 sq ft. filled with programmed light and sound shows, a video arcade, the karaoke and dance “Beat Box,” as well as a beautiful hardwood skating surface, Roller Kingdom guarantees you fun for all ages.
  • If you are famished from your busy day, pop by MOOYAH burgers for supper. Try one of their favorite burger combos or build your own.  Don’t forget a tasty milkshake that pairs perfectly with your burger!

Day 4:

  • Bring the family to Boston Paintball in Ashland, Home of Apocalypse City for some exhilarating family fun! This playing field features a downed airplane, two story hospital, apartment building, city hall, an ambulance, stores, houses and more for a fantastic experience!
  • After an action-packed day, unwind by the cozy and warm fireplace at Stone’s Public House, which offers authentic Irish American fare. Try a vegetarian Sheperd’s pie or an Irish pizza which is topped with bacon, cheddar, scallions and of course potatoes!

Day 5:

  • Embrace your inner creative today! Try a mosaic class at Cheryl Cohen Mosaics and explore this glass/tile art style, or try a flameworking/glass bead making class at Elsie Kaye.
  • Then, check out the creativeness of others in the Natick Center Cultural District. Walk around and explore the public art such as the painted electrical boxes and murals.  Stop in to some of the local shops such as H. Brandt Jewelers, Uni-T, Helen’s Handbags, Five Crows, and others and browse their unique wares!
  • Before you say goodbye to MetroWest, enjoy one last meal at Skybokx 109 and enjoy some traditional sports pub grub as some of the best wings in the Natick area!
