Stay in the heart of Marlborough at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Marlborough. Close to so many great attractions and offering comfortable guest rooms as well as a fitness center, you can’t go wrong here.
Enjoy a Celtic Celebration at Old Sturbridge Village. Enjoy fiddle tunes, a demonstration of the bagpipes, and music by Celtic musicians. Hear Irish poetry and stories, learn about the Mongomery Guards, the first volunteer militia company in Massachusetts composed entirely of men of Irish decent, watch a step dancing performance by the Lee Irish Dance School and learn a 19th-century dance with the Old Sturbridge Village Dancers.
Fuel up at Funky Murphy’s Irish Pub. Funky Murphy’s combines the charm, welcoming service, and delicious food you’d expect from a classic Irish pub, all set in a vibrant, modern atmosphere full of energy.
Once you’ve filled your belly, stop at Tackle Box Brewery for their St. Patrick’s Day Celebration featuring Irish tunes, fun games, green beer and a brand-new Irish Stout! Live music by Whisky Cherrybomb will keep the party going late!
DAY 2:
Take your lads and lasses to the Pre St. Paddy’s Day Luncheon at Wayside Inn. Featuring a 3-course meal full of traditional Irish food and an Irish Step Dance Performance, this will be sure to impress whether you are Irish or just Irish for the weekend!
Head into Boston for the night for the Dropkick Murphy’s show at the MGM Music Hall. By staying in Marlborough, you’ll have a quick, easy drive home after the show!
DAY 3:
After a leisurely morning, take a drive to see the historical Milford Irish Round Tower. The Milford Round Tower is probably the only one of its kind in the United States, and maybe even outside of Ireland in the whole world. The tower in its final form stands seventy-three and a half feet in height. It has a stone conical roof with four windows at the tsop, two midway, and a door at the ground level. It is capped with a stone shamrock and made of Milford granite.
Before heading out of town, grab an authentic, traditional Irish meal at Arigna Irish Pub & Coal Fire Kitchen in Bellingham. It is, after all, national corn beef and cabbage day!
