Routes & Roots

2 days / 1 night

DAY 1:

  • Stop into the Framingham History Center to experience their current exhibit Framingham’s Collective Journeys: Stories of Immigration, 1960 – present.  This exhibit is the first onsite multilingual exhibition in the Framingham History Center’s 136-year history as an institution. Through oral histories, interactives, and artifacts, you are invited to explore the collective journeys of those who immigrated here since 1960 and of the city that grew and transformed with their movement.
  • Check out Kous Kous Mediterranean Kitchen in Framingham for some tasty gluten free falafel or some delectable lamb shank for lunch.
  • Spend your afternoon taking in Danforth Art Museum’s Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller Collection. Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller (1877-1968) was an American sculptor and is known for her groundbreaking depictions of the African and African American experience.  Works such as the Study for Ethiopia Awakening and Study for the Spirit of Emancipation celebrate African heritage while expressing aspirations for the future.
  • Close out the day with some flavorful Brazilian BBQ steak at the Framingham Station Brazilian Steakhouse.
  • Rest your head at the brand new Fairfield Inn & Suites Framingham with its warm ambiance and romantic castle-shaped building.
